Growing our own butterflies!

Over the duration of our summer holiday camps over the last few weeks, some of the children were eager to get involved in our butterfly garden activity.  

Butterfly garden is an activity pack that watches caterpillars change into butterflies.  

The kit contains 3-5 baby caterpillars as well as their nutritious food. The kids had so much fun watching the different growing phases. They saw the caterpillars eat and grow up to 10 times their original size, then form chrysalides, and eventually into beautiful butterflies!  

Everyone kept diaries and completed an entry at each stage of the growing process, they were encouraged to draw diagrams and write down explaining what changes they had seen.
